The need to faithfully replicate the sensations a driver experiences when pushing a car to its limits in a such small installation, led to the development of numerous integrated devices, all working in perfect harmony with the motion system. Accurately perceiving a vehicle’s limits is the simulator’s ultimate goal, achieved by prioritizing sensory immersion as the foundation of the design. Devices strategically placed throughout the simulator provide the driver with precise feedback on the car’s behavior, helping to interpret and feel its limits without relying on bulky, heavy simulation platforms. Such oversized setups, when pushed to the extreme conditions of competitive driving, often risk motion graphics desynchronization, which can lead to motion sickness.

The philosophy behind this project is to deliver a compact yet high-performance simulation platform that excels due to its lightweight design. The primary focus is the Driver, the sim is made for him and suits him like a tight dress, delivering coherence between perceived accelerations and the driving experience, making the Virtuoso GT simulator the ultimate technological tool for track driving training and skill development, offering unmatched responsiveness and realism in pursuit of driving excellence.

From the outset, the design proved a daunting challenge, posed by two opposing objectives: creating an object that would immediately convey to the driver the perception of the car’s actual shape and dimensions, within a project that sought a “minimalist” design to reduce weight and bulk.

Just as the art of simulation is about conveying the perception of movement while remaining stationary, the Virtuoso’s design creates the perception of larger dimensions and spaces within a smaller volume.

The Virtuoso design stems from an ambitious idea; seemingly subtle lines and shapes create the illusion of a larger object.

The asymmetry of the design, typical of a GT car, helps complete the idea: the left side mirrors the door vane, offering convenient access to the “driver’s office,” a feature that was made mandatory during the design phase. The simulator had to be comfortable and accessible to anyone who wanted to use it without complicated access procedures. The “closed” right side features the lines of the car’s center console on the inside, while the exterior seamlessly mirrors the silhouette, also lending structural rigidity to the chassis.

The result is a stunning product that not only reproduces the feeling of jumping in a GT sports car, but also sits at the same ground level as the real thing, making the experience even more immersive from the very first moment.
